Lost a ring at Alcúdia or Playa de Muro? What to do and how we search

Meet Dr. Dixon

Alcúdia and Playa de Muro form one long, sandy bay on the north coast of Mallorca, with the water staying shallow a long way out. That is good news if you lose a ring here: a gold or platinum ring usually stays close to where it dropped, and a metal detector search in the right strip of sand or water has a real chance.

What to do right now: stay near the spot, mark it with a towel or a pin on your phone, don't dig with your hands, and take a photo from the spot towards the shore. Note the nearest hotel, beach bar or sunbed row.

What we see most here: rings slipping off while swimming or playing ball in hip-deep water, and rings lost on the sand by the sunbeds in front of the big hotels. In September 2025 a guest lost a Cartier band at the water's edge in front of her hotel at five in the morning. We searched around midday the next day and found it before she flew home.

How the search works: send us the pin, photos and a picture of the ring on WhatsApp. We agree a time, usually when the beach is quiet, and search in lines from the dry sand into the water. We explain the costs before anything is booked.
